"Shree Laxmi Prasad Devkota Secondary School" was established in 2027 as a primary school. The  school is located 25km south from the district headquater of Jhapa , Chandragadi . It is nearby the lowest place  of  Nepal , Kachankawal in ward no 2 , the then Pathariya VDC -2. Despite various problems , the school is currently operating Successfully with only one Secondary quota up to class 10 and has passed 83.44 and again 83.44 percent students in the SLC examination Standing itself in the first and third position in the academic session 2068 and 2069 Bs respectively. The School has so far been producing patriotic and promising manpower in the process of producing many national servants.

It is said that education is the identity of civilization, the backbone of the country. In today's changing world , providing contextual education is a really a challenging job faced with such a big challenge , the local parents ,school mgmt committee ,PTA , Political parties and teacher have made joint efforts to provide quality education as per the demand of time. The school started English medium in pre-primary and class one from 2065 BS and gradually upgraded up to class 12 till the date. The school is running in both English and Nepali medium up to Class -12.and Nepali medium from class 6 to 12 too. The school is known as the best community school in the area and process to develop it as a model school in constituency No 3 in the coming day is underway.

Computer practical classes are being conducted from class 3 to 8 by implementing computer subject as a local subject in primary level from the academic session 2069 BS. With complete satisfaction, all the stakeholders express best wishes for the further progress of the institution. The school has been teaching Computer  Science  is class 11 and class 12 as a technical subject and has aimed at starting science stream from the upcoming academic session.

LPDSS located in Kachankawal municipality ward no 2 has been benefitting people of broad area. The school has been conducting its academic activities attracting students from all four directions viz Pathamari ( Eastern side ) , Kechana (Sothern side ) , Pathariya bazzar (Western side ) and Balubari (Northern side ) located at Sukunadigi, The School is connected to Mechi High way. The lowest land of Nepal Kachankawal is 6 km far from the school. The school welcomes students from different ethnic groups such as Brahmins , Chhettri  Rajbanshi , Gandarva , Tamang , Limbu , Rai , Santhal , Biswokarma  , Mallah , Ganesh.etc. A large number of inhabitants work in tea factory , merely a few are engaged in trade, bussines  and Job.The people here are suffering from poverty and are not able to get a good education as there is no environment to earn money from other professions. The parents are unable to teach their children in English medium classes with little help.
